WHY CHOOSE MGF LEGAL SERVICES?

Marie Forkan is a qualified Lawyer covering the Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire borders and surrounding towns. She specialises in Will Writing, Trusts, Lasting Power of Attorney, and Probate.

Marie studied the CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice and was delighted to accept the Fellowship grade of membership with the Society of Will Writers. There are only 32 members nationally who have been awarded the Fellowship grade of membership.

“The commitment you have demonstrated, not only to the Society but also to the Will Writing Profession, is clearly influenced by your own personal experiences, and when combined with your qualifications and technical knowledge, this makes you just the type of Member we’re looking for to hold the grade of Fellow.”

Our Services

Estate Planning is something we are passionate about! MGF Legal Services are a professional Estate Planning service providing you with peace of mind and your loved ones with the protection they deserve. We will guide you through the process and provide advice tailored to your specific circumstances. Everything will be explained to you so that you can make informed decisions about what is right for you and your loved ones. We try to take a holistic approach to Estate Planning and our advice may include a combination of the services below:

Writing a Will is the only way to protect your loved ones and ensure that your assets and the things you have worked so hard for, are distributed to those who you would wish to benefit from your Estate after your death. If you die without a Will, your Estate will pass under the strict rules of intestacy – many people are often shocked to find out that those who they would want to inherit could be excluded under these rules. Whether your situation is simple or complex, MGF Wills & Estate Planning can provide advice tailored to your circumstances.

When you make a Will, the people who you’d like to receive your estate are known as beneficiaries. It may be that you don’t want those beneficiaries to receive their inheritance directly. Trusts allow you to set up special instructions to hold assets on behalf of your beneficiaries. You appoint Trustees (people you trust) to administer the assets on your behalf. In some circumstances a Standard Will is not always suitable; for example people who have children from a previous relationship or who have re-married, people who may have to consider the care of dependents with special needs, couples who may need to consider care fees or people with generally more complex Estates, maybe because they own a business. Trusts would normally be set up for these situations.

Creating a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to nominate people you trust to manage your day-to-day affairs in the event you are no longer able to yourself. People often don’t consider that long before their death they might become incapable of managing their day-to-day affairs. It’s important to consider how you and your family might cope if you were to be involved in an accident or were to suffer a stroke or the onset of dementia. Making a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to nominate a trusted relative or friend to look after your affairs in such an eventuality.

MGF Legal Services - Lasting Power of Attorney

When someone dies it can feel like your whole world has been ripped apart. To then find out you have a number of legal responsibilities can just be completely overwhelming. There are strict legal requirements on Executors and Trustees and there are numerous legal processes that must be followed to avoid any personal liability – all this at a time of high emotion and grief, when perhaps you aren’t able to think clearly. Our probate service offers you guidance at this difficult time. Whether you just need assistance with obtaining the grant of probate, or whether you require full estate administration and assistance with Trusts we can help.
